RCIPS Requests Public Assistance Identifying Items Recovered in Honduras and Believed to Be Stolen

5th October, 2018 Police Headlines

The RCIPS has received items which are believed to have been stolen, and are requesting public assistance in identifying them. The items, a Myers water pump and Makita chop saw, are believed to have been stolen during a theft or burglary sometime before December 2017. They were recovered on a boat originating in the Cayman Islands, which was discovered in Honduras late last year, along with a man who had been reported missing from Cayman. They have now been returned to RCIPS custody.

Also recovered was a Honda power washer, which has not yet been returned to Cayman, but is expected to be returned in the coming weeks. Photos of the items can be viewed below.

Police are appealing to anyone who may believe the items belong to them, to contact the On-Duty Inspector at George Town Police Station at 949-4222, to claim the items. Any information received will also be of value in the investigation into this incident. In order to claim items persons will be required to present proof of ownership, which can include pictures, receipts or serial numbers.
