The man, age 32 of West Bay, who was arrested on 14 December following a serious assault in West Bay, has now been formally charged with Attempted Murder, he is expected to appear in court this afternoon, 4 January.
Shortly before 6:00PM on Thursday, 13 December, officers in West Bay were contacted by a member of the public who was concerned about the welfare of a woman who is known to them. The person reported that they suspected an altercation had taken place the previous night, Wednesday, 12 December, between the woman and a male known to her. Officers attended the location given, an address on North West Point Road, and entered the residence when they did not receive a response from within. A woman was found unconscious at the location suffering from head injuries. Emergency services were contacted and attended the location and the woman was taken for treatment. She remains in critical but stable condition.
Today, 14 December, a man, age 32 of West Bay, was arrested on suspicion of Attempted Murder in relation to this incident. He remains in custody as investigations continue.
The incident is suspected to have taken place on Wednesday, 12 December, between 11:00PM and 12:00AM, and police are appealing for anyone who may have seen anything, or may have any information regarding the incident to contact West Bay CID at 949-3999.
