The RCIPS would like to remind all Kaaboo attendees not to off load passengers on the roundabouts and highways near the event. Doing so is extremely dangerous, and even more so at night when visibility is lower.
The RCIPS is informing the public that traffic diversions for the KAABOO Festival will be implemented starting tomorrow, Friday, 15 February. However, the reduction of the speed limit from 40mph to 25mph along the Esterley Tibbetts, between the Cost-U-Less and Yacht Club roundabouts, is in effect as of this morning, 14 February.
This afternoon, 14 February, just past 3PM, a two-car collision occurred on Bodden Town Road near the cemetery in Bodden Town.
Race Caribbean will be hosting their annual Valentine’s Mile road race on Sunday, 10 February from 4:00-4:30PM. Participants will start at Goring Avenue and travel south onto Walkers Road then West onto Memorial Avenue, north onto South Church Street and end at Bayshore Mall via Warwick Drive.
Just after 1PM today, police and other emergency services were dispatched by the 9-1-1 Communications Centre to a report of a motor vehicle collision involving a car and a cyclist. The incident took place on Thomas Russell Avenue, George Town, in the vicinity of the CNB Roundabout.
The RCIPS is advising the public of road closures and traffic diversions along West Bay Road and the Esterley Tibbetts Highway in order to facilitate the KAABOO Music & Arts Festival. These road closures and diversions will be in place from Thursday, 14 February at 12:00PM until Sunday, 17 February at 6:00AM.
The Cayman Islands Hash House Harriers are hosting their annual Cross Island Relay on Sunday, 3 February from 6:00AM to 10:00AM. The relay will begin in Gun Bay, East End, and end at Smiths Barcadere. South Church Street will be closed between Thompson Drive and Antoinette Avenue during the race.
The RCIPS would like to advise the public of road closures taking place this weekend, 25 - 28 January to celebrate the 2019 Heroes Day Celebrations in Central George Town.
The eastbound lanes of Shamrock Road are blocked in the vicinity of Spotts Beach due to a two-vehicle collision.
