Motorists Advised to Exercise Caution during St. George’s Anglican Church March of Witness, 20 April

18th April, 2019

St. George’s Anglican Church is hosting a March of Witness on Saturday, 20 April at 4:30AM, travelling from Eastern Avenue to John Gray High School and then to Smith Cove. No roads will be closed for this event, but police are advising motorists to exercise caution if traveling in these areas on Saturday morning.

UPDATE: Man Found Unresponsive on North Church Street This Morning, 15 April

Just before 5:30AM the 9-1-1 Communications center dispatched fire and emergency services to a report a male cyclist found unresponsive on North Church Street in the vicinity of Coral Sands. UPDATE: A man has been charged in connection with this incident and will be in court this morning, 17 April.

Road Closures for Demonstration on Fort Street, 13 April

11th April, 2019

On Saturday, 13 April, Fort Street will be closed between Harbour Drive and Edward Street, and Albert Panton Street will be closed between Fort Street and the courthouse, in order to facilitate a demonstration in front of the Legislative Assembly. These road closures will be in place from 11:00AM to 9:00PM.

On Sunday, 7 April, Feed our Future will be hosting their Century Bike Ride, beginning at 5:00AM. The event will begin at the Pappagallo Restaurant in West Bay and the cyclists will be riding to North Side and then back to Pappagallo. The event is expected to end at 1:00PM.

Road Closure for National Trust Glow Run, 30 March

The RCIPS is informing the public that Harbour Drive will be closed between Fort Street and Goring Avenue on Saturday, 30 March, in order to facilitate the National Trust Glow Run. The closure will be in effect from 12:00PM to 10:00PM.

On Saturday, 16 March, Esso will be hosting their 3-Mile Walk in support of the Cayman Islands Diabetes Association, beginning at 6:00AM. No roads will be closed for this event but motorists are advised to exercise caution when travelling near BarCam Esso on Saturday morning.

RCIPS Issues 98 Speeding Tickets Last Week, 6 March

Officers from the RCIPS Traffic and Roads Policing Unit conducted a series of traffic operations last week, as part of continuing efforts to address excessive speeding, and in response to concerns from members of the public about speeding in certain areas. 98 speeding tickets were issued during the operations.

Motorists Advised to Anticipate Traffic Delays in Lower Valley Area During Ag Show, 5 March

The RCIPS is advising the public to anticipate traffic delays while travelling in the Lower Valley area tomorrow, 6 March, during the annual Agriculture Show which begins at 7:30AM. Motorists are advised to budget extra time for travel in the area, especially during the morning hours.
