Swimming related death – Cayman Brac

Cayman Brac is located 89 miles northeast of Grand Cayman. The Island has an area of 15 square miles and a population of approximately 1700 people.

Chief Inspector Frank Owens is assisted by one Sergeant, one Acting Sergeant and seven Constables. They provide a twenty-four hour service to the Cayman Brac community.

The police station is located at The Creek.

Little Cayman is located five miles north west of Cayman Brac. The Island has an area of eleven square miles, and a resident population of 150 people. At peak times this can rise to between 500 and 600.

The police station, located in Spot Bay Road, is staffed by two constables. PC’s Lloyd Anderson and Greg Shepherd work a flexible shift pattern to fit in with the Island’s needs and are on call, and available, twenty- four hours a day.

 

The sister island’s police officers work in close partnership with other agencies, such as Customs and Immigration.
