Community Safety
We all have a part to play in keeping the Cayman Islands one of the safest places to live, work and visit. There are several things you can do to prevent crime in your neighbourhood.
Neighbourhood Watch
This is when all the people in a certain area agree to look out for one another and their property. You keep an eye out for anything suspicious, tell one another and the police if you spot something. Neighbourhood Watch can be a good way to help families feel more secure in their neighbourhood, but can be hard to set up where they are needed most. Neighborhood Watch schemes require dedication and effort from the members and a constant communication process between residents.
For more information on Neighbourhood Watch contact your local police station.
Special Constables
Special Constables are trained and uniformed police volunteers those officers with blue stripes on their trousers instead of red. They patrol the community assisting regular officers and help out at special events.
