Shortly before 10:00PM on Monday, 1 October, officers responded to a report of the sudden death of a 44-year-old man at a residence in Prospect. A post-mortem was subsequently completed, during which it was determined that the deceased, who had just returned to the island from Honduras, had ingested a large number of pellets containing what is believed to be cocaine, some of which were discovered to have ruptured. Further tests are pending before the official cause of death will be determined. The controlled drugs recovered have an estimated street value of $25,000 KYD.
The matter is currently under investigation by the Coroner’s office.
