Shortly after 5:40PM on Monday, 29 October, officers on patrol in West Bay were alerted by a member of the public to an altercation which had taken place outside a liquor store on Powell Smith Road. Officers immediately attended the location and were informed that the persons involved had left the scene, and that a man who had sustained injuries had driven to a nearby location on Birch Tree Hill Road. Upon arrival at this location, officers observed a man who had sustained wounds to his torso and leg, being assisted by members of the public. It was reported that the man had been involved in an altercation with another male, who used a knife to injure him.
The victim was transported to the Cayman Islands Hospital to be treated for serious injuries. He is currently in stable condition.
