Police are still investigating an incident where an on duty officer in uniform was struck by a vehicle that refused to pass through a traffic stop and check. (See previous release).
The vehicle in the incident is described as being a black four door sedan, possibly a Honda. The driver of the vehicle is a male, described as being of brown complexion, with shoulder length hair that was pulled back into a ponytail at the time of the incident.
The incident is being investigated by officers in West Bay and they are seeking the assistance of the public in locating the vehicle and identifying the driver.
“We’re reaching out to the community to assist us with this investigation. It is important that we locate the culprit, as their actions showed a complete disregard for the life of another person as well as a lack of respect for persons in authority,” said Sergeant Leslie Laing-Hall, who is overseeing the investigation.
