Public Advisory: RCIPS Updates the Public on Road Closures, 7 February

Update: 

The RCIPS would like to inform the public that all roads are now cleared and re-opened to the public, which includes the following:

 

  • North West Point Road (vicinity of Cracked Conch)
  • Junction of North West Point Road/Town Hall Road
  • Eastern Ave/North Church Street
  • Bodden Road
  • Mary Street
  • Boilers Road

 

The RCIPS would like to thank our partners at the NRA and DEH who worked tirelessly and diligently in order to clear our roads as quickly as possible. We continue to encourage the public to exercise caution in these areas as some road work is still being carried out.

Initial Release: 06/02/2024

The RCIPS is advising the public that following roads will remain closed overnight due to the continued severe weather conditions.  The red dots in the attached images provide a visual indication of the locations:

 

  • North West Point Road (vicinity of Cracked Conch)
  • Junction of North West Point Road/Town Hall Road
  • Eastern Ave/North Church Street
  • Bodden Road
  • Mary Street
  • Broiler Road

 

Road work will commence tomorrow Wednesday 7 February, once the weather conditions have subsided and it comes safe to do so. The public is being reminded to avoid these coastal areas as best as possible are still unsafe. An update will be provided once these areas have been made safe.
