The Royal Cayman Islands Police Service (RCIPS) is advising the public that a recovered item has been secured.

The 32-year-old man, who was arrested on Wednesday, 22 April, after attempting to evade police officers along Sound Way, has now been formally charged by the police.

The Police are investigating a report of an armed robbery which took place at an address on Kennedy Drive in George Town on Friday, 24 April. 

Today, the Royal Cayman Islands Police Service (RCIPS) officially released its 2025 Crime and Traffic Statistics Report. Members of the Senior Command Team held a press conference to discuss the key developments, emerging trends, and the impact of strategic initiatives on public safety over the past year.

Motorists are advised that the Esterley Tibbetts Highway is currently closed between the Jay Bodden Highway and the AL Thompson Roundabout, in the vicinity of the George Town Landfill.

On Monday, 13 April, officers arrested another man, age 25 residing in North Side, on suspicion of robbery, in relation to the incident on Friday, 27 March on Elgin Avenue in George Town. He has since been formally charged with Robbery and is expected to appear in court tomorrow, 15 April.

The George Town Police Station will be relocating to 19 Eastern Avenue and will be fully operational at this new location on Monday morning 13 April, 2026.

Two men have been arrested and charged with burglary and attended court.

The RCIPS Traffic and Roads Policing Unit is launching its first phase of Operation Clyro for 2026, an initiative to reduce dangerous driving behaviours, particularly those which lead to the loss of life.

The 29-year-old man who was arrested on Tuesday, 24 March, in relation to multiple burglary incidents in the George Town area, has now been formally charged with two counts of burglary. Additional incidents remain under investigation.
