On Wednesday, 20 February, the Ritz-Carlton Grand Cayman hosted a Bicycle Safety Training session for their employees, partly in response to concerns raised by recent bicycle accidents. Acting Sergeant Jonathan Kern of the Community Policing Department, who was also invited to attend, spoke to the employees about bicycle safety and their questions regarding Cayman’s road laws and how they relate to bicycle use.
Clive Hamdorff, Director for Loss Prevention at the Ritz-Carlton, says they are planning to host more of these training sessions for their staff, many of whom ride bicycles to and from work. They are also hoping to have additional training sessions for staff of the Ritz-Carlton’s sister hotel, the Grand Cayman Marriott.
