CICG and RCIPS Helicopter Intercept Vessel in Cayman Waters, 30 May

30th May, 2026 Police Headlines

On Friday 29th May 2026, at just after midnight, the crew of the RCIPS Helicopter, notified the CICG of the presence of a vessel, which was observed to be navigating in a suspicious manner along the southern coastline of Grand Cayman. The CICG responded, and the vessel in question, was subsequently stopped. A preliminary search of the vessel revealed the presence of numerous parcels believed to contain illicit goods.

Following this discovery, the vessel, its crew, and cargo was detained and secured; all of which were later handed over to members of the RCIPS for further investigations.

The two men found on board the vessel were subsequently arrested on suspicion of importation of ganja and other related offences. They have been taken into custody, where they currently remain pending further investigations.
