For a better experience on RCIPS, UPDATE YOUR BROWSER. Update:
Following an extensive search effort in Cayman Brac by the CICG and the RCIPS, along with the joint partners that formed the NEOC group, today, a collective decision was made to stand down on the basis that there were no findings to support the reports that were made, neither on sea nor by air.
A police investigation into the report made will continue and should new information be discovered that warrants the search to resume then the decision will be made as needed.
CICG and the RCIPS would like to thank the partner agencies the public for all their assistance.

Initial Report:
8:30AM - Shortly after 8:00PM yesterday, 30 October, Emergency Services received a report of what appeared to be an aircraft descending, followed by a flash resembling an explosion. Responders immediately gathered information and deployed both air and sea assets to conduct a thorough search based on eyewitness accounts.
Despite extensive efforts, no evidence of an incident was observed at this time. It is important to note the limited nighttime visibility affecting observations. The matter was declared a major incident at 11:15PM. To ensure a coordinated response, the National Emergency Operations Centre (NEOC) was activated to align all primary agencies for first-light operations today.
Search efforts continue today in coordination with HMCI, CICG, RCIPS, DOE, CIFS and other agencies.
