Firearm Incident in George Town, 12 October

Just before 8PM tonight, Friday 12 October, police and other emergency services were dispatched by the 9-1-1 Communication Center to Sound Way in George Town where it was reported that a man had been shot. 

 

Police were first on scene. The area was assessed by  the armed units and they then  advised the EMTs when it was safe to enter the location. 

 

The injured man was transported to the Cayman Islands Hospital where he is currently being treated for serious injuries believed to be as a gun shot wound. 

 

There were two (2) suspects who were said to have left the location on foot and officers are currently making checks in the surrounding areas. 

 

One suspect was said to have had a handgun and the other brandished a machete.
