George Town Man Charged with Going Equipped for Stealing and other Offenses, 20 April

Just before 3:25AM on Friday, 17 April, police stopped a man traveling on a bicycle along Oakdale Close in George Town, during the hard curfew. While the officers were speaking with the man, he ran away from them and a foot chase ensued. The 44-year-old-man from George Town was caught and arrested by the officers for breach of curfew and taken into custody.


After further investigations the man was further arrested on suspicion of theft as well as for disorderly conduct. He was kept in custody pending further investigations.


The George Town man has since been charged with Going Equipped for Stealing, Breach of Curfew and Disorderly Conduct.  The man appeared in court via video link today, 20 April and was remanded in custody until 22 April.
