Illegal Gambling: Six Arrested in George Town, 13 October. Two Formally Charged from April Arrests

On Saturday, 13 October, officers conducted a search at a location on School Road in George Town on suspicion of illegal gambling. During the search, officers recovered several receipt books and other gambling paraphernalia. A large amount of cash was also seized. Six persons at the location were arrested on suspicion of unlawful gaming: five men, age 54 of Bodden Town, and ages 48, 55, 57, and 62 of George Town, and a woman, age 35 of George Town.

 

They have been bailed as investigations continue.

 

In addition, a man, age 42 of West Bay, and a woman, age 26 of West Bay, who were arrested on Friday, 13 April, following an operation at an address off West Church Street, have been formally charged with Unlawful Gaming and Keeping or Using a Place as a Common Gambling House.

 

They have been bailed to appear in court on 23 October.
