UPDATE (2 September):

The man who was arrested following a wounding incident involving a male juvenile on Saturday, 30 August, has now been formally charged with Wounding with Intent to do Grievous Bodily Harm. He appeared in court today, 2 September, and was remanded in custody pending a further appearance on 5 September.

Initial Release (31 August):

Just before 1015PM on Saturday, 30 August, police and other emergency services were dispatched by the 9-1-1 Communications Centre to a report of a serious stabbing incident at a residence on Double Tree Lane.

It was reported that a man was engaged in an altercation with a woman known to him when a male juvenile intervened and was attacked by the man, who inflicted stab wounds and lacerations to the juvenile’s face and body. The man left the location prior to the arrival of the police. An extensive search for the male took place throughout the night.

Emergency Medical Services attended the location, attended to the juvenile male and transported him to the hospital by ambulance. The juvenile male was treated for serious but non-life-threatening injuries and later released from the hospital.

The man subsequently turned himself over to the police and was arrested on suspicion of wounding with intent. He remains in custody pending further investigation by the police.
