Shortly after 8:00PM on Monday, 20 June, officers responded to a report of a wounding incident at an address on in Cayman Brac. It was reported that a man and woman known to each other had been involved in an altercation, during which the man brandished a knife and cut the woman on her face. The man left the location prior to the arrival of officers. Emergency services attended and the woman was transported to the Faith Hospital by ambulance for treatment and subsequently discharged.
On Wednesday, 22 June, officers arrested the man, age 53 of Cayman Brac, on suspicion of wounding, threats to kill, possession of an offensive weapon, causing fear or provocation of violence, and breach of a probation order.
He appears in court today, 23 June in relation to these offences.
