Shortly before 12:20PM on Wednesday, 5 March, officers on patrol on Shamrock Road observed a vehicle with tint which appeared to be darker than legally permitted by the Traffic Act. Officers stopped the vehicle and, upon approaching to speak to the driver, detected the strong scent of ganja coming from within. Officers conducted a search of the driver and the vehicle under the misuse of Drugs Act, which resulted in the recovery of a quantity of suspected ganja and other paraphernalia.
The driver, a man age 31 of Bodden Town, was arrested on suspicion of possession and consumption of ganja and possession of ganja with intent to supply. He has been granted bail as investigations continue.
