A man, age 28 of George Town, has been formally charged with Assaulting a Police Officer, Resisting Arrest, Disorderly Conduct, Intentional Harassment, Alarm or Distress, and two counts of Common Assault. The first three charges stem from an incident on 5 December where police responded to a report of a man causing a disturbance at an address on Maple Road in George Town. The male behaved aggressively when approached by the officers, and assaulted one of them. He was subsequently taken into custody. The other charges stem from incidents in April, September and October, involving the man and a person known to him.
He is appearing in court this morning, 10 December.
