Shortly after midday, officers responded to a report of a vehicle that collided with a tree along John Jefferson Snr Drive, off the Esterley Tibbetts Highway.
On arrival, the officers observed that the driver was the only occupant of the vehicle. He was assisted from the vehicle and taken to hospital for treatment.
No other persons or property were affected.
Police subsequently confirmed that the driver is being treated for serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
The matter remains under investigation.
