UPDATE (13 May):
The man, age 27 of George Town, who was arrested on Thursday, 9 May, in relation to a burglary in George Town, has now been formally charged with Burglary.
Additionally, he has been charged with Robbery, Possession of an Imitation Firearm with Intent to Commit an Offense, and Theft, in relation to an armed robbery which took place at a bar on Dr. Roy’s Drive, on Sunday, 5 May.
He appears in court today, 13 May.
Initial Release (10 May):
Shortly before 2:00PM, Thursday 9 May, police responded to a report of a burglary at a commercial premises on South Church Street, George Town.
It was reported that a store room was accessed and personal items taken, including a mobile phone. Officers tracked the phone to a residential address in George Town, where a man was located along with the stolen goods and what appeared to be a firearm.
The man, a 27-year-old of George Town was arrested for Burglary and Possession of an Imitation Firearm and transported to the detention center.
The man is also believed to be connected to two armed robberies that occurred over the last week at commercial premises in George Town.
The man remains in custody under investigation for a number of offences.
