UPDATE: Man Arrested and Charged for Aggravated Burglary in South Sound, 11 February

UPDATE:

On Tuesday, 8 February, police arrested a 21 year old man in relation to an aggravated burglary that took place on Tuesday, 1 February, at a residence located on Anne Bonny Crescent, South Sound. On Thursday, 10 February, he was charged with Aggravated Burglary and related offences and is due to appear in court today, Friday, 11 February.  An item of stolen jewellery was recovered as a result of the investigation.

 

Other individuals are known to be involved in the incident, that resulted in the forced removal of a safe containing documents and personal possessions along with other items from the residence.

 

This incident continues to be investigated by the police and detectives are seeking information from the public that may assist with locating the other assailants and the remaining stolen property. Just before 3PM yesterday, police were dispatched to a residence located on Anne Bonny Crescent, where it was reported that an aggravated burglary had taken place.

 

Two masked men were interrupted while they removed a safe that was bolted down in the home using what is believed to a crow bar. The home owner was forced and locked into a room by the assailants, and soon after they fled the location in a black sedan vehicle. The victim did not report any injuries to the police.

 

One of the assailants was described as tall, medium built, of dark complexion, with a t-shirt covering his face. The other man was short, of dark complexion, was slim built and carrying a crowbar.

 

The stolen safe contained documents and other personal items. This incident is being investigated by the police and detectives are seeking information from the public that may assist with locating the assailants and the stolen properties.
