Just before 4:30PM on Friday, 19 September, police responded to a report of an armed robbery which had taken place at a location on Barcadere Drive, George Town.
It was reported that two masked men, both carrying firearms, attended the location and approached a vehicle with a female occupant. The men took a large quantity of cash, recently collected for staff payments, from the vehicle, as well as a handbag containing personal effects.
The men then fled the scene in a Honda Fit, which did not have a license plate attached. No shots were fired, and no one was injured during the incident.
Police conducted an immediate search of the location and the surrounding areas.
One of the suspects is described as being about 5’5” tall, of medium build, and wearing a mask.
The matter is under investigation, and anyone who witnessed the incident or has any information about the matter is asked to call George Town CID at 949-4222.

Police have identified that several staff payroll robberies of this type have taken place in recent times, and in light of this, business owners are being asked to consider the following:
-Make payments using cheques, direct deposits and electronic transfers where possible.
-Limit the amount of cash that you have on hand at any particular point in time.
-Vary your payment days and times where possible.
-When transporting cash, use differing routes to avoid being tracked and followed.
-Install surveillance systems on job sites and offices.
