It is reported that a man dressed in dark clothing entered the premises through an unsecured balcony door leading to a bedroom.
The occupant, who was awake at the time, shouted at the suspect, who then fled the location in the direction of the beach. No items were reported stolen, and no one was injured during the incident.
Police were then called to respond to a similar attempted burglary report at a residence in the community. No one was injured, and no items were reported missing.
A few minutes later, police responded to another call for service at a residence nearby.
It is reported that the occupants were inside a room when they were alerted by suspicious sounds in another section inside the premises. They shouted at the suspect, who fled the location. Afterwards, it was found that a quantity of cash and personal items had been taken.
In two of the reported incidents, the suspect gained entry to the premises through doors that had been left unsecured. The RCIPS is reminding the public to ensure that all doors and windows are properly secured before going to bed or leaving their homes.
