For a better experience on RCIPS, UPDATE YOUR BROWSER. Shortly before 1:00 AM yesterday, 4 November, officers responded to a report of a single vehicle collision on Boilers Road in George Town. It was reported that a vehicle had left the roadway and collided with a residential structure on the roadside, causing significant damage to a wall. The vehicle then left the location.
Officers attended the location and spoke to the persons inside the building, who reported no injuries.
Officers conducted further enquiries and soon located a vehicle which fit the description of the vehicle involved, and which had sustained damage consistent with the collision. Soon afterwards, police located the person who had been driving. The woman, age 30, residing in George Town, was arrested on suspicion of careless driving and leaving the scene of an accident. She complained of pain and was taken to the Anthony Eden Hospital for treatment, and subsequently released into police custody.
The matter is currently under investigation.
