UPDATE: Man Arrested on Suspicion of Murder and other Offences in Relation to School Road Shooting, 28 April

Update (28 April):

A man, age 25 of George Town, has been arrested in relation to the murder which took place on Monday 25 April at a commercial premises on School Road in George Town. The man had previously been wanted by police in relation to a number of other matters, including domestic and traffic matters.


A woman, age 33 of George Town, was also arrested with the man, on suspicion of aiding and abetting an offender.


Both persons remains in custody as investigations continue.


The victim in this murder is Harry Elliot, age 62 of George Town. The RCIPS expresses condolences to the family of the deceased.


Initial Release (26 April):

Shortly before 8:30PM, Monday 25 April, police and emergency services were dispatched by the 9-1-1 Communications Centre to a report of a shooting incident at a commercial premises on School Road, George Town.


On arrival at the address, the police located a 62 year old male lying unresponsive on the floor with what appeared to be a gunshot wound to his head.


Emergency services attended the location and the man was transported to the Cayman Islands Hospital where he was pronounced deceased by the doctor on duty.


The scene has been cordoned off and police are investigating the incident.
