For a better experience on RCIPS, UPDATE YOUR BROWSER. Shortly after 6:15 AM today, 24 October, officers responded to a report of a robbery in the vicinity of Smith’s Barcadere in George Town. It was reported that a man was at the location, when he was approached by another man unknown to him, who brandished a knife, demanded his property, and made threats.
The culprit then robbed the first man of his vehicle keys and other personal items. The culprit then appears to have also taken cash, jewellery and other personal items from the vehicle before fleeing on foot. No one was injured during the incident.
The suspect is described as being of light complexion and of slim build, about 5’9” in height, with low cut hair and a beard. He was wearing a light-coloured t-shirt, black shorts, and was carrying a backpack.
The matter is currently under investigation by George Town CID, and anyone with any information, or who was in the area between 5:45 and 7:00AM today, is asked to contact 949-4222.
