At about 12:30AM today, 16 May, police were dispatched by the 9-1-1 Communications Centre to an incident of robbery that is believed to have taken place on South Church Street in the vicinity of Thompson Drive.
It was reported that a man was riding along South Church Street on his bicycle when another male cyclist collided with the rear of his bicycle causing him to fall, resulting in non-life-threatening injuries. At the time he did not attend the hospital for treatment.
The second man then stole a blue backpack which contained a mobile phone and other items. He then made off from the location on his bicycle in the directions of Seafarers Way, George Town. The suspect was described as approximately 5ft 8ins in height, dark brown complexion, and medium build. He was believed to have been wearing a red t-shirt at the time of the incident.
This incident is being investigated by police and anyone with information is being encouraged to call the George Town Police Station at 949-4222.
