Shortly before 1:50AM this morning, 8 March, officers responded to a report of a robbery at a convenience store on Eastern Avenue near the intersection with Godfrey Nixon Way. It was reported that a masked man had entered the store, brandished a machete, and demanded cash from the cashier at the location. The man then fled the location on foot with cash and other items. No one was injured during the incident.
The suspect is described as being of brown complexion and slim build, with cornrow braids, and was wearing light-coloured clothing and a mask.
The matter is currently under investigation by George Town CID, and anyone with information is asked to contact 949-4222.
