Police Investigate Shooting Incident in West Bay Where a Dog was Shot, 5 June

Just before 3AM today 5 June, police were dispatched by the 9-1-1 Communication Centre to a report of a shot being fired at a residence off Billy Manderson Drive, in West Bay.

 

When officers arrived, it was discovered that a dog that belonged to the residents was seen next to a vehicle and appeared to have sustained a gunshot wound. The vehicle that also belonged to the residents was confirmed to have been damaged. No other injuries to any person was reported to the police as a result of this incident.

 

The dog was transported to a veterinary office for treatment, but later succumbed to its injuries and was pronounced deceased.

 

Police are investigating the circumstances of this incident and are encouraging anyone with information about what took place to call the West Bay Police Station at 949-3999.
