UPDATE: Motorist Succumbed to Injuries in Shamrock Road Collision, 19 February

Yesterday, Friday 18 February, at approximately 3:30PM, officers were informed that Seamard Green, a 43 year old male from Bodden Town, who was involved in the collision that took place on 16 February, succumbed to his injuries yesterday morning and was pronounced dead at 10:15AM by the attending doctor at the hospital.

The RCIPS Traffic and Roads Policing Unit is appealing for witnesses to this collision, now a fatal investigation, which occurred on Shamrock Road, in the vicinity of Valley Drive, just before midnight on Wednesday 16 February.

Anyone who witnessed the incident is encouraged to call the Traffic and Roads Policing Unit at 649-6254 or the Bodden Town Police Station 947-2220.

The RCIPS expresses condolences to the family of the deceased.


17 February 

Shortly before midnight last night, Wednesday 16 February, police and other emergency services were dispatched by the 911 Communication Centre to a report of a single vehicle collision on Shamrock Road in the vicinity of Valley Drive, Bodden Town.


The Cayman Islands Fire Service extricated one 43 year old male who was trapped in the vehicle. The man was transported to the Cayman Islands Hospital with a serious head wound and burns to the face and body.  On arriving at the hospital he was assessed as in critical condition. 


Initial reports show that the vehicle was travelling east along Shamrock Road towards Bodden Town when the vehicle veered to the other side of the road and overturned and came to a stop in bushes on the side of the road.


As at 6.45am this morning the man was undergoing surgery.


The matter is being investigated by the police, and anyone with information is encouraged to call the Traffic and Roads Policing Unit at 649-6254 or the Bodden Town Police Station 947-2220.
