Initial Release (24 June):
Shortly after 12:40AM today, 24 June, officers responded to a report of a stabbing incident outside a bar in Seven Mile Shops on West Bay Road. It was reported that there had been an altercation at the location during which one man brandished a knife and stabbed two other men. One of the men received a stab wound to his eye, while the other received a stab wound to his abdomen. The man with the knife left the location prior to the arrival of police. Emergency services attended the location and the two other men were transported to hospital to be treated for what appear to be serious and life-changing injuries.
“We know that there were a number of people at the location at the time of the incident and are appealing for witnesses to come forward,” says Superintendent Pete Lansdown. “The only way to end this type of violence is for the public to stand up against it. When offenders know their actions will not be tolerated by the community as a whole, they will think twice about committing violent acts.”
Anyone who witnessed the incident or has any information is asked to contact George Town CID at 949-4222.
