Police Investigate Wounding Incident in George Town, 26 June

Just after 9:15PM on Thursday, 25 June, police were dispatched to the hospital where a woman had been admitted with multiple stab wounds.

It was reported that the woman was at a liquor-licensed premises in George Town when she was approached by a man known to her. An argument developed between the two, and using a bladed weapon, the man stabbed the woman several times. Other persons at the location intervened and the woman was able to get to safety. The man then left the location in a white vehicle fitting the description of a Honda Fit.

 

The woman was transported by private vehicle to the hospital where she remains in stable condition and is being treated for serious injuries.

 

Officers searched extensively throughout the night to locate the suspect involved in the incident, however he still has not been located.

 

Detectives are encouraging him to surrender to the Cayman Islands Detention Centre immediately.

 

Additionally, anyone believed to have witnessed this incident is encouraged to assist with the investigation by calling the George Town Police Station at 949-4222.
