Police are appealing to members of the public who may had a number of SERCOM internet modems stolen to make contact in order to identify the items.
On 9 August, 2025, officers recovered 39 SERCOM FG1100R-L/US internet modems from a vehicle which had been involved in a collision, following which the driver fled the scene. The driver of the vehicle was located and spoken to, but has not been able to satisfactorily explain having possession of the items. Police enquiries into the origin of the items have so far been unsuccessful, and as such, we are making a public appeal for the owner(s) of the modems to come forward to identify and claim them.
If anyone believes these items may be their property, they are encouraged to contact the police at 949-4222. Persons should be prepared to provide proof of ownership of the items.
A photo of one of the modems is included.
