Police Recover Large Quantity of Ganja During Vehicle Stop, 1 March

1st March, 2025 Police Headlines

Just after 1:30 PM, 28 February, police signalled a vehicle to stop that was travelling along the Linford Pierson Highway. The driver failed to stop and instead sped off in the direction of George Town. The driver then attempted to veer off the road into a construction site, but crashed into a fence. He then exited the vehicle and attempted to flee on foot, but was apprehended by officers.

A search of the vehicle led to the recovery of a large quantity of ganja. The driver, a 40-year-old man from West Bay, was arrested for drug-related offenses as well as multiple traffic violations committed in the presence of the officers.

He remains in police custody as investigations continue.
