This past Monday, 2 July, the Police Welfare Committee hosted the Football and Family Fun Day at the Field of Excellence on Poindexter Road. The main event for the day was the Six-A-Side football competition, which included the RCIPS League, featuring teams from within the RCIPS, the Law-Enforcement Competition, featuring teams from across law-enforcement and government, and the Community Competition, featuring civilian teams. There was also a Youth Community Cup.
During the football competition the RCIPS Titans emerged victorious in the RCIPS League, with the ARV and JTF teams in second and third place respectively.
The RCIPS Titans were also the champions of the Knockout Competition.
The Law-Enforcement Competition saw the Prison teams come out on top, with Prison 1 as the champions and Prison 2 in second place.
Friends of Police were the victors in the Community Competition, followed by Otis Air in second place.
The Boyz 2 Men team came first in the Youth Community Cup, with the Cayman Under 17 team in second place.
In addition to the awards for the winners of the competitions, trophies of appreciation were presented to the two referees who assisted over the course of the RCIPS League, and Inspector Joseph Wright, of the RCIPS Titans, was awarded the trophy for Most Valuable Player.
