RCIPS Warns of Ongoing Vishing Scam, 30 October

3rd November, 2026 Police Headlines

The RCIPS is investigating several reports of an ongoing vishing (voice phishing) scam.

While the methods employed and individuals or groups targeted vary, businesses and individuals perceived to have access to corporate accounts or significant funds are believed to be primary targets of the current scam.

In the reported attempts, scammers contact individuals by telephone claiming to represent a bank where the individuals or company hold a corporate account. The scammers then request banking credentials or direct the individuals to a fraudulent web page where they are encouraged to enter further banking information.

The RCIPS is reminding members of the public to take these precautions to protect their money and financial assets:

Never disclose online banking password, PIN or one-time password (OTP) security codes over the phone, especially to unverified callers.

Do not click on links, transfer money to a “safe account,” or install software on your device at the request of an unsolicited caller claiming to represent your bank.

End suspicious calls immediately and report them to your bank directly using their official website or phone numbers.

Avoid engaging with suspicious messages. Do not reply, click on links or open attachments in suspicious texts or emails.

Anyone who believes they have been targeted by this scam is encouraged to report the matter to the police at 949-4222.

Anonymous tips can be provided directly to the RCIPS via our Confidential Tip Line at 949-7777, or via our website.

Tips can also be submitted anonymously via the Cayman Crime Stoppers website or by downloading the Cayman Crime Stoppers app.

Investigations into these reports remain ongoing.
