The RCIPS is informing the public about the following road closures taking place on Saturday, 23 May, in order to facilitate the One Carnival street parade.
From 9:00AM to 1:00PM, South Church Street will be closed between Memorial Avenue and Boilers Road, in preparation for the parade.
The parade will commence at 1:00PM, and rolling road closures will be implemented along the designated parade route to ensure the safety of participants and spectators. As the parade progresses, roads will be reopened in sections once it is safe to do so.
The below shows the parade route as well as the estimated times for road closures along the way:
9:00AM to 1:00PM – South Church Street will be closed between Memorial Avenue and Boilers Road.
1:00PM to 1:20PM – South Church Street and Seafarer’s Way will be closed between Boilers Road and Fort Street.
1:20PM to 1:50PM – North Church Street will be closed between Fort Street and Eastern Avenue.
1:50PM to 4:00 PM – West Bay Road will be closed between Eastern Avenue and Lawrence Boulevard.
4:00PM to 4:30PM – West Bay Road will be closed between Lawrence Boulevard and Gecko Link (Galleria Roundabout).
4:30PM to 5:30PM – West Bay Road will be closed between Gecko Link and Lime Tree Bay Avenue.
5:30PM to 6:00PM – West Bay Road will be closed between Lime Tree Bay Avenue and the Seven Mile Public Beach entrance.
Detailed maps of the parade route and estimated times are also attached for reference. However, the staging time begins at 9:00AM and not 11:00AM as stated in the images.
The times provided are an estimate and may be subject to change. The public is kindly advised to avoid these areas during the specified times unless attending as a spectator, and to plan their travel accordingly. If travelling to West Bay on Saturday afternoon, motorists are advised to take the Esterley Tibbetts Highway as an alternate route.
