Yesterday afternoon, 20 December, firearms officers on patrol in George Town had cause to stop a vehicle in the Prospect area. The vehicle initially failed to stop after being signaled to do so and was followed by the police vehicle until it came to a stop shortly afterwards. Two male occupants of the vehicle were detained by officers, while the third occupant fled from the vehicle on foot. Officers conducted a search of the men and the vehicle and recovered a quantity of suspected ganja as well as a black full-face mask.

Officers pursued the third man and located him nearby. He was also taken into custody. All three men, age 20 of Bodden Town, North Side, and George Town respectively, were arrested on suspicion of possession and consumption of ganja and remain in custody as investigations continue.
