The RCIPS is advising the public to anticipate traffic delays while travelling in the Lower Valley area tomorrow, 22 February, during the annual Agriculture Show which begins at 7:00AM.
To assist with traffic flow, there will be an extra lane added between Homestead Crescent and Daniel Drive and between Agricola Drive and Will T Drive, from 6:30AM to 8:30PM, for use by motorists attending the Agriculture Show:
- Attendees travelling east (from George Town) will detour in the vicinity of Homestead Crescent (just past Hirst Road), and enter the Agricultural Grounds via Daniel Drive and Lottery Road.
- Attendees travelling west (from the Eastern Districts) will be detour in the vicinity of Will T Drive, and enter the Agricultural Grounds via Agricola Drive.
- Motorists not attending the show or otherwise requiring access to Agricola Drive or other local roads, will travel along Shamrock Road as normal, and will not be permitted to turn onto Agricola Drive during these times.
There will be signage in place, and motorists are advised to follow all instructions given. Motorists should also budget extra time for travel in the area, especially during the morning hours.
