13th May, 2022 Police Headlines

The RCIPS is advising the public of the following road closures taking place to facilitate the Cayman Islands Charity Auto Show, part of the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations, happening on Monday, 16 May, in Central George Town.

These closures will be in place from 6:00AM to 8:00PM on Monday, 16 May.

Seafarers Way will be closed at Shedden Road.

North Church Street will be closed at Mary Street.

Shedden Road will be closed at Elgin Avenue.

Police officers will be at these closure points to monitor traffic and permit entry by persons attending the event or otherwise requiring local access. Motorists not attending the event or requiring local access will be diverted at these junctions.

In addition, Fort Street will be closed at the junction of Edward Street.

Taxis and buses will also be permitted to access the area via a designated route, travelling onto Seafarers Way via Shedden Road, and exiting via South Church Street.

Motorists are advised, if possible, to avoid the area if not attending the event, and to exercise caution otherwise.
