24th June, 2026 Police Headlines

On Sunday, 21 June, officers from the Traffic and Road Policing and Air Operations units conducted a traffic enforcement initiative in the Eastern Districts. The operation was carried out in response to community concerns regarding speeding and various traffic offences observed along the main roadways.

Shortly before 11:30AM, while on patrol in North Side, officers observed a man and a juvenile riding a quad motorcycle in the vicinity of Hutland Road. Officers activated their emergency lights, causing the motorcycle to stop.

Following enquiries, the man, age 39 residing in North Side, was arrested on suspicion of driving whilst disqualified and other traffic offences and taken into police custody. The motorcycle was taken into police custody for investigative purposes. The man was subsequently charged with Driving Whilst Disqualified, Driving Without Insurance, Using a Vehicle with No Registration and Using a Vehicle Without a Certificate of Roadworthiness, and appeared in court on Monday, 22 June.

A few hours later, shortly before 6:00PM, officers responded to a report of disturbances being caused by a group, including dirt bike riders, in the vicinity of Rodeo Close in Bodden Town.

The Air Operations Unit assisted officers on the ground in tracking one of the motorcycles to an address in the area. Following enquiries, a man, age 20 residing in Bodden Town, was arrested and taken into police custody on suspicion of driving while disqualified and other traffic offences.

The motorcycle was recovered and taken into police custody for investigative purposes.
