For a better experience on RCIPS, UPDATE YOUR BROWSER. Shortly after 11:20AM on Friday, 17 April, officers responded to a report of a person in distress at the Governor’s Beach off West Bay Road. It was reported that a man was snorkeling in the water at the location when he began to experience difficulties. He became unresponsive and was assisted to shore by members of the public and a private vessel. On shore, members of the public conducted CPR until the arrival of emergency services.
He was transported to the Anthony S Eden Hospital by ambulance, and subsequently pronounced dead.
The deceased is a visiting Canadian national, age 61.
