Beat 4 covers the area between Northward and Woodland Drive and is also known as the Lower Valley Beat.
PC Garcia has served with the Royal Cayman Islands Police Service for 36 years. He has dedicated over a decade of this service to community policing in particular, and has been working in the district of Bodden Town for some time. He is well known by the residents and community leaders in his beat.
PC Garcia hopes to facilitate a reduction in crime, especially burglaries, by supporting the initiation and continuation of Neighborhood Watch programs. PC Garcia believes that Neighborhood Watch Groups empower the community and provide residents with an active way to safeguard their neighbourhoods.
PC Garcia also plans to work closely with the Traffic and Roads Policing and Bodden Town patrol officers to regulate the morning commuting traffic and reduce the number of driving offences that occur in his beat area. PC Garcia knows that traffic violations can be dangerous, especially speeding in highly residential areas and school zones where children are at play.
PC Garcia reports that residents on his beat are also passionate about the number of abandoned and derelict vehicles in the community. Other Community Officers have been successful in addressing this issue with the DEH, and PC Garcia plans to build on this success and liaise with the DEH and DVDL to facilitate the removal of these vehicles.
