The Experience Cayman LIVE event and the 2020 Intertrust Cayman Islands Marathon will be taking place this weekend, 5-6 December. Cayman LIVE takes place on Saturday, 5 December, from 4:00PM to 11:00PM, and the marathon takes place on Sunday, 6 December, from 4:30AM to 11:30AM. There are a number of road closures over the weekend to facilitate these events.
6:00AM Saturday, 5 December until 12:00PM Sunday, 6 December:
-Albert Panton Street will be closed to vehicular traffic.
9:00PM Saturday, 5 December until 12:00PM Sunday, 6 December:
-Cardinall Avenue will be closed to vehicular traffic.
-Harbour Drive between Boilers Road and Fort Street will be closed to vehicular traffic.
-Shedden Road between Elgin Avenue and Harbour Drive will be closed to vehicular traffic.
The route for the Cayman Islands Marathon begins on Harbour Drive and participants travel south to South Sound Road, east onto Shamrock Road, and onto Prospect Point Road, before turning back and travelling along Shamrock Road and South Sound Road, north onto Walkers Road, through Academy Way, back onto Walkers Road, and return to Harbour Drive via Hospital Road, Elgin Avenue, Edward Street and Fort Street. We ask that motorists travelling in these areas on Sunday be mindful of the safety of participants and volunteers, and follow the instructions of the marshals and police officers who will be on hand to direct local traffic along the route.
