Just before 11PM, last night, Sunday, 15 March, police and other emergency services were dispatched by the 9-1-1 Communications Centre to a report of a motor vehicle collision on Shamrock Road, in the vicinity of Arrow Drive, Bodden Town. The collision involved two (2) vehicles, a white Honda sedan and a black Dodge pick-up truck.
Both vehicles were only occupied by their respective drivers, both of whom were transported to the Cayman Islands Hospital with injuries sustained during the collision. The Driver of the Dodge was treated for what are believed to be minor injuries, and later released. The driver of the white Honda sedan remains in hospital being treated for what are believed to be serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
Both vehicles involved in the collision were extensively damaged and the vehicles also collided with a nearby fence, also causing damage.
The matter is under investigation by the Traffic and Roads Policing Unit.
