Shortly after 1:00PM on Monday, 26 March, the 9-1-1 Communications Centre dispatched officers to a report of a burglary at a residence off Northward Road, Bodden Town. A woman had returned home and found that her front door had been disturbed. Upon entering her residence the woman encountered a masked male.
RCIPS road enforcement operations continued over the past week, 19 – 26 March, with a number of DUI arrests made. This past weekend, 23-26 March, officers made 11 arrests for DUI, with an additional 2 arrests during the rest of the week.
In anticipation of the upcoming Easter holidays, the RCIPS is advising the public of certain steps that can be taken to protect themselves and their property if they are spending time camping over this long weekend.
Police can now confirm the identity of the victim of the fatal traffic collision which occurred on Sunday, 25 March (see below). He is Lenny Ray Pinet Trusty, aged 35, of George Town.
Shortly before 5:30PM on Friday, 23 March, officers responded to a report of a robbery which took place in the vicinity of Tropical Gardens Road, George Town. A man was walking in the area when he was approached by three men who held him, punched him in the face, and robbed him of his phone, shoes and other personal items.
Motesha Mothen, age 15, of Bodden Town, attended the John Gray High School, yesterday, 27 March, but did not return home afterwards and has not been located since.
Shortly before 11:40PM on Tuesday, 27 March, the 9-1-1 Communications Centre dispatched officers to a report of a robbery outside the Wendy’s Savannah location. Two security officers were doing a collection of money from the location when they were approached in their vehicle by two armed men with their faces covered.
Police can now confirm the identity of the man who was pronounced dead on Saturday, 24 March (see below). He is Aric Matthew Brooks, age 28, of East End (correction to prior release).
Shortly after 11:30PM on Saturday, 24 March, a report was received of a stolen vehicle which was last seen in the parking lot of Country & Western Restaurant in George Town. The vehicle, a black 1996 Honda Integra, registration #Q2867, was last seen by the owner at about 10:30PM and was discovered missing about an hour later.
