Yesterday, 27 June, police arrested a man, age 37 of Cayman Brac, on suspicion of possession of an unlicensed firearm, in relation to the incident earlier that morning where the window of residence in Cayman Brac appeared to have been broken by a projectile. The man remains in custody.
The RCIPS can confirm that a senior politician attended the Cayman Islands Detention Centre this morning, Wednesday 28 June, and was arrested and formally charged with Rape and Indecent Assault, in relation to a criminal complaint of a sexual nature dating back to 2000.
The RCIPS is advising the public of the following road closure taking place to facilitate the Lying in State for the late Captain Eldon Kirkconnell, on Friday, 30 June.
Shortly after 1:00AM today, 26 June, officers responded to a report of shots fired in the parking lot of a bar on Shedden Road just east of North Sound Road. It was reported that there was an altercation between multiple persons, during which shots were fired.
Police have responded to multiple reports of drugs being washed ashore in the Cayman Islands over the past several weeks. There have been six recent reports of persons finding packages containing suspected cocaine on the shoreline in all three islands.
