Earlier this month, instructors from the RCIPS Training and Development Unit hosted a group of Compliance Officers from Workforce Opportunities Cayman, along with a Customs Officer from CI Customs and Border Control, for a week-long course on Interview Technique Skills.
This morning, Friday 29 April, the Cayman Islands Coast Guard (CICG) took possession of two new custom built Ford F550 trucks to support their operations.
A man, age 25 of George Town, has been arrested in relation to the murder which took place on Monday 25 April at a commercial premises on School Road in George Town. The man had previously been wanted by police in relation to a number of other matters, including domestic and traffic matters.
The RCIPS have seen a recent increase in the number of Honda vehicles stolen on Grand Cayman, specifically; CRV, Civic and Accord models. The majority of these stolen vehicles are registered pre 2002.
As part of the RCIPS’ ongoing investigations into recent violent crime, including armed robberies and murder, two of the main suspects in the investigation have been arrested this afternoon, 28 April, following a high speed pursuit and interception by the Firearms Response Unit in North Side.
A man has ben arrested following a burglary incident which took place in West Bay on Monday, 26 April.
A man was arrested following a report of sexual assault in East End. The matter is under investigation.
CICG and RCIPS search operations have transitioned from search and rescue to search and recovery for the persons who went overboard from a vessel on Friday, 22 April. The packages recovered previously have been determined to contain ganja. A man has been arrested and formally charged as a result.
Shortly after 8:45PM, Sunday 24 April, police responded to a report of an armed robbery outside a premises on Shedden Road, George Town, just west of Eastern Avenue. A woman had just exited the premises when she was approached by a silver Honda CRV with tinted windows.
